Wildway Estates was born from combining long standing passions for both immersion in nature and building unique, premium residences to the highest standards. In searching for our own residence, we recognized that the current local offerings are far from meeting the discerning needs of increasingly international home buyers who find inspiration from abroad - so we decided to build it ourselves. Now we want others to share in the joy we’ve found in creating our own oasis built to the highest standards.
Wildway Estates is the sister company of Wildway, a premium nature oriented hospitality owner/operator set in Spain’s most stunning wild locations. Select homes developed by Wildway Estates and located in ideal outdoor locations can be operated by Wildway on behalf of the property owner for high yielding rental income.
Why Wildway
Wildway Estates are designed with beautiful simplicity and sustainable architecture in mind, helping our clients to connect to the surrounding nature that is incorporated in our design and is visible throughout our expansive windows. We work with solid wood construction for a premium feel that promotes health and wellbeing and benefits from the highest home efficiency ratings. We are inspired by the Japandic style combining Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian simplicity, all while incorporating luxury finishes, to promote the ultimate sense of comfort and peace of mind.
Michael Patterson
Founder and CEO
Experienced Leadership
Prior to founding Wildway, Michael was Managing Director creating and leading investment strategies at Alte, a VC-backed private equity real estate firm based in London with investments done in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, and focusing across the continent. Michael transacted over Eur 270m in equity across primarily residential, logistics, and leisure assets after building and reviewing a pipeline of over Eur 37bn. Alte was acquired by Bricksave, where Michael was focused on fundraising for its U.S. residential strategy.
Before joining Alte, Michael co-founded a real estate manager in Madrid that built a +200-unit co-living platform (Eur 50m GAV) and did a number of referential office developments with institutional investors (Eur 180m GAV). He previously acted as the Spain country manager at Turnstone Group, where he acquired/developed/sold >500 residential homes across Iberia (Eur 150m GAV). Michael began his career at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey (Truist) in Atlanta as an investment banker focusing on asset securitization.
Michael has built invaluable experience in identifying attractive locations, negotiating with sellers, and building best-in-class product, and has studied and underwritten dozens of real estate strategies in the residential and hospitality spaces primarily in Spain.
Michael is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Honor’s Program with degrees in Finance and Spanish, and received his M.B.A. from IE Business School in Madrid. When he is not focused on building Hideaway, Michael can be found on the trails hiking with his wife and two boys, running or cycling around Spain, skiing wherever the powder is deep, or in the waves of north Spain. Michael is a native fluent Spanish speaker. He credits his faith in Christ, love for his family, and passion for the outdoors and alternative investing in inspiring and driving the creation of Wildway.
